Baltimore Expert Calls Rioter-Ruled City “Alice-in-Wonderland”

Trials of Police Officers are “Progressive Human Sacrifices”

A year ago Baltimore was ablaze with rioter-torched police cars and burning stores, looted while police – ordered by a Progressive mayor to stand down – watched as criminals ran amok.

That nightmare and the long, strange history behind it is explored by veteran think tank futurist and former talk radio host Lowell Ponte, co-author with Craig R. Smith of We Have Seen The Future and It Looks Like Baltimore: American Dream vs. Progressive Dream.

This week Baltimore protestors began to gather again as the second of six police officers charged following the death of heroin addict and drug pusher Freddie Gray was found not guilty of all four charges against him.

“The Progressive politicians in Baltimore have offered four police officers to the mob as human sacrifices in what some legal experts call a Stalinist show trial,” says Ponte.

“The bicycle cop acquitted this week, Edward Nero, was charged with the ‘crime’ of chasing down Gray after this urban terrorist who used chemical warfare to poison Maryland children ran when the officer looked at him,” says Ponte.

“Freddie Gray, the mob martyr and hero, reportedly had a rap sheet of 17 charges and was not unknown to police. Yet prosecutors charged Nero with a ‘crime’ for arresting Gray because he had no ‘probable cause’ to do so, even after finding a Baltimore-illegal knife in Gray’s possession.”

The first trial, of young officer William Porter, ended weeks ago in a hung jury. Prosecutors charged Porter with enough crimes to put him in prison for 25 years, hoping to compel him to testify against fellow officers – half of whom, including Porter, are African-Americans like Freddie Gray.

Porter and Gray, in fact, were the same age, and were born and raised by single poor mothers in the same neighborhood. The main difference is that Porter joined a police sports group, found a family in police officers, and became a defender instead of a destroyer in his community. So, of course, it is Porter who is demonized and will be tried again in June.

“Porter is under a judge’s order to testify against his brother officers, even though doing so violates his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination,” says Ponte.

“They have to convict at least one or two of these officers, or the mob will again start looting and burning the city,” says Ponte.

How did Baltimore become this Alice-in-Wonderland crazy place long referred to as “Mob City?” Who can live in a city where the criminals rule and the police get arrested and tried on trumped-up charges?

“The Progressives have ruled Baltimore for more than 60 years,” says Ponte. “Nancy Pelosi was born and raised here. Her dad was the Democratic machine politician mayor. He would put Nancy on the telephone as young as age seven to tell favor-seekers ‘You want a building permit? Well, here’s what you have to do for us!’ This is where Pelosi learned strong-arm politics.”

“More than 60 years of corrupt Progressive rule spawned divide-and-conquer racial and ethnic polarizing politics. Addiction to the welfare state has turned into addiction to heroin, making Baltimore America’s heroin capital – with one of every 10 residents a junkie as Freddie Gray was,” says Ponte.

“The city has an amazing history. This is where Francis Scott Key wrote what became our national anthem, and where Key’s grandson was imprisoned by Abraham Lincoln for writing against Lincoln’s military occupation of Baltimore during the War Between the States,” says Ponte.

“And Baltimore could continue to have a high-tech future. It has the world’s preeminent medical center, where Dr. Ben Carson became famous, and its Advanced Physics Lab built and controlled the spacecraft that flew by Pluto just weeks after the 2015 rioting.”

“But during the rioting its Progressive mayor declared: ‘…We also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well, and we work very hard to keep that balance…’” says Ponte.

This mayor told police to back off and let rioters and looters do as they wished during the chaos – and, in place of police, the mayor asked leaders of the local gangs….the crips, bloods and Black Guerrilla Family….to protect African-American stores. They did so, the New York Times reported, by directing looters to stores not owned by African-Americans.

If and when – God forbid – new Baltimore rioting breaks out, you’ll want to talk to Lowell Ponte about it and his amazing book.

Last time the local Progressive politicians constrained the police, put officers on trial, and let Baltimore burn.

As a result, police cut back their pro-active enforcement of law. Arrests fell by 30 percent, and the local murder rate rose by 53 percent. Baltimore since then has had more murders than New York City, which has 13 times more residents.

If the mob again wins and police again lose, it will be a lose-lose for Baltimore – and could set an example for the police to avoid risks in your city or town. The “Ferguson Effect” could quickly become the “Baltimore Effect.”
